Industries

Expertise begins with market understanding.

We know the industries our clients work in – from project work, not at second hand. More than 400 projects across different end industries worldwide, with a focus on tech-enabled services. Across all industries, we see ourselves as advisors to the Mittelstand: owner-managed, independent, with around 20 consultants based in Munich and Düsseldorf.

AI & Software

AI, cloud technologies and new digital business models are changing value chains and competitive positions. Artificial intelligence is moving from an experimental technology to an integral part of software products, business processes and IT infrastructures, while cloud-based solutions continue to gain importance. Providers of software, cloud and AI solutions therefore face considerable growth opportunities – alongside rising requirements for digital infrastructure, cloud computing and IT security. This creates attractive opportunities for investors and companies and raises the need for strategic action.

Business Services & IT Services

The service sector is Germany's largest area of economic activity and by far the biggest employer. Its share of value creation has been rising for decades – driven by digitalization, outsourcing and ever more demanding customer requirements. Value creation increasingly comes from service, knowledge and relationships rather than the product alone. For companies and investors the sector is therefore one of the most attractive markets: large, steadily growing and in constant motion.

The key success factors are adaptability, customer focus, networking, brand strength and human resource management; more and more providers are becoming solution providers. IT services are growing in particular – driven by digital infrastructure, cloud computing and IT security. Our project references range from IT consulting, IT security and IT system houses through managed services to value-added software distribution.

Construction & Trades

Few industries spread value creation across as many stages and players as construction. It starts with clients, project developers and investors who define demand and financing. Architects, specialist planners and engineering firms translate it into designs, structural analysis and detailed planning. Manufacturers and distributors of building materials and products supply the materials, general and main contractors coordinate execution, while shell construction, civil engineering and finishing companies, craft businesses and building services specialists deliver the individual trades – often as subcontractors on several tiers. After completion, facility management, maintenance and refurbishment providers take over operations for decades. Each stage follows its own margins, cycles and rules; interfaces, liability issues, deadlines and the shortage of skilled workers make the interplay demanding. For companies and investors, the decisive question is therefore where in the chain they stand – and how well they master their interfaces.

Healthcare

The healthcare sector is in transition: health policy changes, consolidation, price and cost pressure, new patient needs, demographic change and complex approval processes shape the environment.

At the same time, non-cyclical behaviour, crisis resilience and changing care structures offer major opportunities – such as more group practices and medical care centres in outpatient care and private ownership in inpatient care. We help clients understand the highly regulated environment and identify trends early.

Industrial Products & Services

'Made in Germany' stands worldwide for precision, reliability and service life – and remains one of the strongest promises an industrial product can make. German manufacturers are frequently global niche leaders: usually family-owned mid-sized companies with deep in-house value creation, their own engineering and a network of specialised suppliers. Their edge rarely rests on price, but on technical depth of solution, quality across the full life cycle and long-standing customer relationships.

At the same time, pressure is higher than ever: volatile raw material and energy prices, currency and trade volatility, fragile supply chains and a growing share of value creation taking place outside Germany. Add the shortage of skilled workers, the cost of decarbonisation and the digitalisation of products, processes and business models. To command a premium in future, manufacturers have to show that 'Made in Germany' means more than a label of origin – namely measurable added value across the entire life cycle.
